I love the Milwaukee Packout system for organizing tools, connectors, and small bits of whatever. My stack, pictured above, mostly holds my tools and components related to my marine electronics/boating hobby, but the main toolbox has a decent complement of things for most on-the-go kinds of jobs.
Of course, there is an Instragram hashtag for Packout-related posts: Packout on Insta. Some great examples there of various Packout arrangements, including some cool 3-D printed custom trays and inserts for even more flexibility. Like most social networks these days, you'll need an Instagram account to see anything more than a pop-up asking for your login, but it is worth checking out.
